Duration: up to 3 hours
Seville is one of the largest walled enclosures in Europe. More than 90 convents strongly conditioned the nature of the complex and some of them survived through the centuries. The route I propose is a walk through the history of Seville, through the prominence of the Jerónimas, the Carmelites and the Augustinians in the daily life of the heart of the city.
We will visit the convent of Santa Paula, of the Order of the Jerónimas, which has a museum with a wonderful collection of sacred art as well as a beautiful church, where you can admire its treasures.
At the end of the visit you will be able to buy ” convent sweets”: jams, marmalades, quince meat, cider cream, figs in syrup, Mozarabic alfajores and other specialties that the sisters make with all their love and that are the main source of their income.
